Universitybus DAF/Wrightbus Cadets

Uno Cadet In October 2000 Universitybus acquired a pair of 10.8m Cadets, followed by a third the following month. They came to Hatfield for the 655 route mainly, with expected appearances on trunk route 602. They wore Universitybus white, with a blue/grey skirt and a fuzzy purple waist-band.

Two more followed a year later, now numbered 777 and 778. The former was painted in an overall advert for Hertfordshire's Intalink Explorer tickets, with 778 in the standard white with grey skirt and purple band. 778 soon acquired branding for the Inter-Campus shuttle.

Repaints into Uno's pink and mauve livery followed in 2004-5. 777 received a pink and mauve front on its updated Explorer livery. 778 at Stevenage, June 2012

777 and 778 were refurbished in 2012, but the earlier three were not so fortunate. 774 suffered a fire at Baldock in February 2013, and was sold for scrap. 776 was sold to Ripley in 2015, and 773 was withdrawn into store in the same summer.

777 and 778 went in the great clear-out at the beginning of 2016, when non-DDA single-deckers throughout the country were taken off service.
