Mullanys

Mullany's took over the lease of two of five Metroline Solos (NSM662 and 664)from February 2009. They had been made redundant at Metroline when Arriva took over the Hampstead Garden Suburbs routes. Mullany's resumed operation of route 318. The Solos retained their fleetnumbers, and acquired Mullany's fleetnames on Metroline's red with blue skirt. They were bought by Mullany's in November 2009, along with NSM660 and 661. NSM 663 was sold to Dawson Rentals. The Mullany's quartet continued to operate from Brickdell Yard in Watford.

  • In February 2010 Mullany's acquired a longer 9.2m 33-seater from Stringer's in Pontefract. It was repainted in Metroline style red, blue skirt and white strapline, and numbered WSM663. One minor difference (apart from the obviously greater length and width, was that the fleetname was all in white.

The leased Solos lasted until March 2013, when they were traded in to Dawson Rentals in exchange for a pair of newer SR Solos, 9.6m with the new styling. These, without fleetnumbers, were put to work on the 318 until April 2018. Then Stagecoach took over the 318 and the Solos returned to Dawsons.
