Harris Bus ScaniaThis page created 9th December 2007 by Ian SmithHarris Bus of Grays bought an Alexander bodied Scania in April 1988, for use on commercial route 383 (Chadwell St.Mary - Grays), competing with London Country North East's Nationals on route 273. Livery was Birmingham-style deep blue and cream. The bus later went to join the Scania collection at Nottingham City Transport, and in 2000 went further north to join other Scanias with Black Prince in Leeds. It stayed there until Black Prince sold out to First Bus in July 2005, when it continued its northerly progression to Glasgow dealer Blythswood. Two more Alexander bodied Scanias, this time on on N113DRB chassis, were added to the Harris fleet in 1989 and remained until 1998, when they were sold to Fowlers of Holbeach Drove. Bus HistoriesThese histories are not complete. They are in process of compilation from data from a variety of sources.
