In service, coming up the street was RF308, wearing London Country Lincoln Green with canary yellow trims. It sported the enigmatic destination blinds: "St.Albans Garage"
Parked on the east side of the street were several Routemasters: open-top RM1403, with a canvas cover on for the winter, and RML2419 in London Country colours, complete with flying polo emblem, with a chalked number for the 313.
Further down St.Peters Street was Sullivans' RML2428, which had arrived on commercial service 656 from Borehamwood.
The Red Rose Enviro-Dart now arrived on the 343, and headed through for the City station.
A further contrast in bus design over the years arrived from opposite directions: Optare Solo 381 of Centrebus arrived on an S4 working, while Greenline RF28 arrived on the 355A from How Wood Estate.
SNB449 worked past on a 321 in the direction of Abbey Station, while RMC1513 arrived back from Hatfield on the 341.
Working the service-bus 321 to Watford came Arriva Solo 2477, while more stylish Volvo/Wright Renown 3302 squeezed past towards Hemel Hempstead on route 301, for which it wore dedicated livery and branding.
It had been a busy twenty minutes in St. Peters Street, but here came my ride to Harpenden, RT3254 on the 321...
