LN1-31

LN: London Buses livery Metroline also took some Dennis Lances, but with dual-door 37-seat slab-sided Northern Counties Paladin bodies. After a period as trainers they went into service in April 1993 from Willesden garage on the 302 (Mill Hill Broadway Stn - Notting Hill Gate) and in September 1993 from Cricklewood Garage on route 113 (Edgware-Oxford Circus) . One, LN11, visited Malaysia before returning to take up service.

All of them continued into the privatised Metroline in October 1994. They proved to be too long for the 302, and February 1995 saw all the Willesden allocation moved to Cricklewood for the 32 (Edgware Stn - Kilburn Park Stn).

LN: Metroline livery Repaints into Metroline livery, with a blue skirt, commenced in 1995.

But the class were not to remain in service long. October 1997 saw the four-year old buses go into store, unmourned, replaced by Metrobuses. Metroline sought in vain for buyers. A handful went at various times to Dublin Airport, while a couple went to North Star Buses, Kirby. Eventually the bulk (two dozen) were sold to the Birmingham Bus Company to replace Leyland Nationals. The two North Star Buses came south to ill-starred Surrey Buses for a while.
