Then RT1499 took off with a full load, I think on the 390 to Stevenage, and RF406 headed west for Welwyn with a 388.
The Greenline RF269 came in, complete with roofboards, on the 724. Not on the full Romford to High Wycombe working, but working as far as Hatfield before turning north to Stevenage on the 716. Beautiful.
The 1115 departure on the 384 to Benington Green was worked by red RF489.
More unusual was Eastbourne 69 on the 1115 departure to Standon Station. Of course, such Eastbourne Regent Vs were hired by London Country, but for the 477 at Orpington, operating from Swanley Garage in spring 1976 in cream and blue livery.
Ken Eveleigh brought RF627 in for the 1125 short run on the 393 to Hertford Heath and back, and Trustline's DMS11 departed on the 311.
Big Mercedes 3905 swept in, and out, on the Heathrow Greenline service. Much smaller GS2 set off on a short working of the 329 to Hertford North Station.
BN61 had popped into the bus station while I was changing my film, and now headed south for Cuffley on the 308. I went over to the bus station to grab something to eat before I had to catch a bus. RM1397 came in to work a 341 west to Hatfield, and Reliance RP21 prepared to head north to Stevenage on the 390.
After a frantic half-hour of activity the bus station quietened down, I got my refreshments, and I waited for Ken to return with RF627...
