Covid-19 put a large dent in the prospects of large scale Running Days. The costs, especially of public liability insurance, have sky-rocketed, and the team that used to provide the buses are now older and/or less able, due to Covid effects.

But the hankering to join with a handful of friends to enjoy some of the old buses remains. So a club has been formed to share days out with some of London Transport's Country Area buses, recreating some of the lesser known routes. Not many people in a bus for the forseeable future, but perhaps several buses. Country Bus Rallies did some of these in the early days, such as the gathering at Limpsfield Chart back in March 2000.

The primary vehicle types to be used will include; RM/RT/RF/RW/GS.

Any personal data such as contact details will be kept in confidence by Colin Rivers and only for the use of related event information and communications.

Ian Smith will not be an organiser, nor hold data on participants, but will try to keep folk informed and report on those events that he can join (Travel from Teeside, age, and other commitments make this sometimes uncertain!)

Green Rovers Days

Hello fellow Green Rover members. Please find dates for your dairy. Can you let me know by return mail if you would like to join us on any of the events listed as soon as possible.

Just firming up on the dates for the coming year:

02 JUNE - 100 YEAR CELEBRATIONS Hertford North Station. Provide two buses for FREE service passing Hertford North Station , More details to follow from next meeting with Hertford Council. Route 390 from Hertford to Stevenage
30 JUNE - KNOCKHOLT - Green Rovers Day possibly including one guest bus
28 July - AMERSHAM- Green Rovers Day.
08 SEPTEMBER HERTFORD MINI running day . Bus Station NOT available at this stage of planning but now part of Hertford council Heritage day
Reigate is being scoped for possible suitable starting/ parking points - Green Rovers Day if we can find a date. Plus one guest bus
Date TBC October - Have been asked to provide a bus for the Gravesend running day
