COUNTRY BUS RALLIES

Covid-19 has put a large dent in the prospects of large scale Running Days. The costs, especially of public liability insurance, have sky-rocketed, and the team that used to provide the buses are now older and/or less able, due to Covid effects.

But the hankering to join with a handful of friends to enjoy some of the old buses remains. So it is proposed that a club be formed to share days out with some of London Transport's Country Area buses, recreating some of the lesser known routes. Not many people in a bus for the forseeable future, but perhaps several buses. Country Bus Rallies did some of these in the early days, such as the gathering at Limpsfield Chart back in March 2000.

The primary vehicle types to be used will include; RM/RT/RF/RW/GS.

Any personal data such as contact details will be kept in confidence by Colin Rivers and only for the use of related event information and communications.

Ian Smith will not be an organiser, nor hold data on participants, but will try to keep folk informed and report on those events that he can join (Travel from Teeside, and other commitments make this sometimes uncertain!)

Green Rovers Days

Hello fellow Green Rover members. Please find dates for your dairy. Can you let me know by return mail if you would like to join us on any of the events listed as soon as possible. I can then firm up with more detail for each of the events

Secondly, sorry for a delay to produce dates for our club days. There have been a few major issues around the serviceability of our vehicles. Items like broken suspension from pothole damage are causing concern and frustration.

Also, much to my disappointment we have had to postpone our Hertford days due to the cancellation of 'over weekend' accommodation and the availability of a suitable replacement. But we are hoping to resurrect as part of the Hertford Heritage day. Please see the dairy below.

3rd & 4th June Hertford now postponed. But hoping to fill this slot (4th June)with a revisit to Sevenoaks

16th July Guildford did not happen due to driver hospitalisation

13th August Guildford rescheduled. (Woking and Windsor)

10th September ... rescheduled Hertford day.... Part of their Heritage weekend and will including old garage site visit

8th October- Addlestone. (Woking and Windsor)
