Stevenage was a growing new town in 1956. The 807 was introduced in October 1956, linking Letchworth Station to Stevenage by a different route from the 384. It linked through Letchworth Gate to Weston, on the way joining the 383 route from Hitchin, then passed south through Friends Green into Stevenage. There it variously terminated at the industrial area or Trinity Church, depending on the time of day and day of the week.

In April 1959 Hitchin garage closed, and responsibility for the 807 - and Hitchin's allocation of GSs, moved to the new garage in Stevenage.

On the June 2002 Running day the 807 was operated between Stevenage and Weston using a RFs and GS2. It was possibly the most intense service the 807 ever saw! GS2, which spent almost all of its London Transport career at Hitchin and then Stevenage, made a return visit to the 807, wearing the livery of its other long-term stay - Southern Motorways. Allocation

Any GSs used on the 807 were drawn from those at Hitchin (and then Stevenage) for the 383. As the GS allocation dropped to a single bus by autumn 1961 I suspect that by then the 807 was worked exclusively by RFs.

GS62 made a foray on the 807 from Weston to Stevenage and back on 4th June 2006, during the Hitchin, Stevenage & Hertford Running Day.
