393 EP Harlow - Great Parndon - Tylers Cross - Clay Hill - Broxbourne - Hoddesdon
The 393 was one of the first routes to serve the fledgling Harlow New Town.
The route started in 1949 using Leyland Cubs from Epping
to provide a roughly hourly service cross-country between Harlow and Hoddesdon.
Epping replaced its Leyland Cubs with new GS buses in December 1953, on both its 381 and 393 routes.
The 393 underwent considerable change at its Harlow end as the New Town developed during the nineteen fifties, swallowing the villages and road network that had been there when the route started.
One-man operated RFs took over in October 1957.
