Part Five: Routemaster again

I jumped ship from RF28 to RML2317, finding a prized upstairs front window seat. My camera case, which I had dropped in RF28 while changing films, and promptly forgot, followed me! Thanks Toby. THe RML also was not leaving immediately, and I watched RF406 come and go. But eventually the engine whirred into life and we were away, out of the station yard and off under the brick arch of the railway bridge. We headed into East Grinstead, passing RF4 on the way, then turned right at the railway station roundabout to miss the station and head up the hill directly into town.

I alighted at the dolly stop, and the RML set off for another short trip to KIngscote Station, its daily bread and butter in the summer months. It was followed onto the stop by RMC1476, back from another jaunt to Copthorne and back on the 424.

I walked up towards the bus park, passing a line of parked double-deckers: RT3148, RT1700, RMC1469, RM835.

Up in the bus-park I found RF269, returned from its Greenline trip to Kingscote, and Country cousin RF672.

LS24 squeezed between RT604 and RF269 to make a bid for freedom, probably on its way home. I turned back down towards King Street, in time to watch RMC1469 make its way up past the line of parked Routemasters to manoevre round past the Leyland National, on its way to the bus-park. I went on down to King Street, to find another bus to ride on.
